Drift and Gymkhana Trials Association
NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DGTrials May Show Schedule Breaking a leg, DG Style.
Atlanta, G.A. Jul 1 st DGTrials has some good-looking girls. Show cars, that is. May was, by far, DGTrials' busiest month on the show circuit, hitting SEMA's IAS East, Vision Entertainment's Hot Import Nights in Atlanta, and the DUB show in Atlanta. And not just on the show floor, either. The DGTrials cars are usually feature fixtures of the event. DUB saw DGTrials Slide or Die S13 in the XM booth, and DGTrials had their own 30x20 spot at SEMA's IAS.
We like to hit the car shows because, even though you might not think it, there are a lot of drifters there, said DGTrials President/CEO, Erik Jacobs. Or potential drifters. Jacobs feels that tomorrow's drifters can be found at today's car shows. Additionally, with the rise in popularity of drifting, there will be a rise in the presence of show-drift cars.
DGTrials Special Events Coordinator Eugene Chou said, We know that enthusiasts are going to start building their show cars to look like the drift cars they see. The same thing happened when import drag racing was big. We come out here to help promote our sponsors because then those are the products people use for their show and personal cars. Being in the spotlight at these events also helps to draw people to the cars.
Sounds like a solid plan. Between the three events, DGTrials probably had well over 10,000 people pass by their cars, pick up a sponsor's brochure, or ask a question about drifting or DGTrials events.
