NEWS ANNOUNCEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DGTrials Announces Advanced Tandem Groups
Atlanta , G.A. – January 23 – DGtrials announced the creation of an advanced tandem run group today in conjunction with releasing portions of their 2006 schedule. This advanced group was created with the intention of providing a higher level of practice than was currently available at existing DGTrials events.
“We felt that it was time,” President and CEO Erik Jacobs said. “We have created a large group of entrants who are more than capable of participating at the highest levels of competition available, so it is only fitting that we provide them with a practice environment that will allow them to recreate the situations that they will encounter there.”
Atlanta Region President Dennis Mertzanis informed that “Drifting may not be against the clock, but it is no less racing than anything else. The safety equipment and hazards involved are all the same, and we now have entrants who are able to be safe at higher speeds and in closer proximity.”
This advanced group will be offered at select events throughout DGTrials' 2006 season. Drivers wishing to participate in this group must submit a petition to DGTrials, which is available online at their website, www.DGTrials.com Drivers should take special note of the tandem requirements listed in section 4.8 of the 2006 GCR, also available at the website.
